The sitting Mayor from time to time will assign Council Members to special Ad Hoc Committees to assist in special projects or assignments of limited nature. These Committees allow the represented Council Members an in-depth review of the subject on behalf of the entire Council. Ad Hoc Committees do not make final decisions on matters they are reviewing or studying, and Ad Hoc Committees, as necessary, report their activity to the entire Council.
Buena Vida - Solana Tract Ad Hoc Committee
Appointees: Council Members Cecilia Hupp and Glenn Parker
The purpose of the Ad Hoc Committee is to dialogue with representatives of the Solana neighborhood of the Buena Vida 55+ Community (Part of the La Floresta Master Development). The Ad Hoc Committee will be a communications link between the Council and the Solana residents for purposes of clarifying information on their private water delivery system.
2020 Census Complete Count Ad Hoc Committee
Appointee: Council Member Steve Vargas
The purpose of the Ad Hoc Committee is to work with the U.S. Census to develop a Complete Count Committee, whose purpose is to engage with the community on an awareness campaign to encourage all Brea residents to respond to the Census.
