CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL - COUNCIL
Mayor Hupp called the Closed Session to order at 5:33 p.m., all members were present.

None.

C. §54956.8), pending litigation [G.C.§54956.9(d)(1)], potential litigation [G.C. §54956.9(d)(2)(3) or (4)], liability claims (G. C. §54961) or personnel items (G.C.§54957.6). Mayor Hupp called the General Session Special Meeting to order at 6:33 p.m., all members were present.
Present: Hupp, Parker, Marick, Simonoff, Vargas

DISCUSSION ITEM
             
7. Working Session with the Brea Envisions Committee
The Brea Envisions Committee provided highlights and discussed their goals and accomplishments. 

Tim McLarney from True North presented a PowerPoint that included: the goals; True North's background; photos of Brea Envisions engagement events; who did what; what the committee learned; what the vision and initiatives are; the validity of the survey; purpose of the study; survey results; key conclusions; goals and objectives; and what's next.

Council was given time to look at the input provided by citizens at the previous Brea Envisions events.  The information was displayed throughout the meeting room.

In response to Council questions, the Brea Envisions Committee members stated that all comments provided by residents were reflected in the report; noted that the committee asked residents what could be done to make the City better; stated that the culture of outreach has changed; explained that residents and others would like to keep the small town feel in Brea; suggested that Council focus on updating existing buildings in the City that are vacant; noted that Committee members also received input from City of Brea visitors; reported that the committee was independent, stating that staff was there to provide support; explained how specific language regarding open space was provided; explained what residents were referring to when they said that they enjoy small town feel and would like the City to be progressive; stated that residents want Brea to continue to invest in the City; clarified that there was no limit on the number of Brea Envisions Ambassadors; expressed interest in having the committee continue; hoped that the report will be updated as needed and used as a tool to provide feedback to Council; believed that there needs to be more discussion; and discussed next steps.

City Planner Lilley discussed the different phases and what was done during each phase.
